Review:
Very good pruning shears
Gelindo kindly sent me a pair of these pruning
shears/secateurs without charge for review and I think they are very good. The shears
are plainly very well made: they are solid and robust and should last for years
– and they have a lifetime guarantee. I
have some other Gelindo products which are all of very high quality and I have
confidence in what they make.
In use, they are excellent.
Do read the instructions first! I
know you wouldn't expect to have to do that with pruning shears, but these have
a clever ratchet mechanism which cuts thick branches by stages, making it much
easier and you just need to know what to expect. (The instructions are clear and in excellent
English, by the way.) They are a
pleasure to use – comfortable, sharp and extremely easy to handle. The claims are true – they really do cut
quite thick branches pretty easily, and as ordinary secateurs they make very
short work of trimming small stuff.
There's not a massive amount more to say about pruning
shears. In short, these are very good
quality and excellent in use. I can
recommend them very warmly.
